HAPPY FRIDAY!

I bought this book to improve my guitar playing last week. I've made it through the first exercise. I'm not a very motivated practicer.

Most of the G chords you'll be playing will be fretted in the F position, moved up tot he third fret.

Yeah, sorry it's so boring this week!

These past few days I've been thinking of learning how to play a guitar. I honestly have zero skills and knowledge about any musical instruments but there's something about acoustic guitar my heart suddenly got mesmerized.

Would you think it's best for me to start enrolling in school? Or self-teaching would do the trick?

My 4 year old son is obsessed with guitars! ;) Here's mine: http://simpleloveofreading.blogspot.com/2010/08/friday-56changeling-20.html

Natalie I know lots of people you taught themselves so of course it's possible. I was classically trained on flute so I NEEDED lessons to get started. (All classically trained musicians are musically stupid - the irony literally killed my creativity until I could move beyond it). It's really your call. I would not start with this book though!

lots of people *who* that should say.

It's not boring! And how cool you are working on learning guitar. I'm envious. I've tried and seem to have no skill for it, despite that my dad, husband, father-in-law, and oldest son are extrememly gifted at guitar!

Here's my F56!

LOL I love the cover ;)

I have a similar problem with my flute. I have Jethro Tulle music to play, but never seem to get time to practice!

My Friday 56 is up now too...

We got the girls little guitars for Christmas, so I guess I am going to have to learn somewhat.
My book this week was sitting on my desk as I am getting our homeschool year planned. "Mommy, Teach Me to Read!" by Barbara Curtis
