Friday 56: Hero

Rules:
* Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of this blog.
*Post a link along with your post back to this blog.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

I have a feeling I might have used this book before but I don't remember for sure and don't feel like looking it up! hahaha! It is the closest right now though. So, from The Hero With A Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell:

But these only served to advance the inevitable; for while still relatively young, the youth exhausted for himself the fields of fleshly joy and became ripe for the other experience.

Glad to see your post! I don't recall this book...so you have my seal of approval! lol

I was here earlier and didn't find your post, so I went over to my Meditations blog to rant about stuff for awhile.

I felt lost in the blogosphere, with nowhere to go! Boo-hoo.

Here's my link:

hahaha! Sorry Laurel! I've had a migraine for 2 days. If I didn't wake up feeling better and if someone hadn't posted on last week's F56 then it might not have made it up at all!

Nice one! The Joseph Campbell sounds familiar, but it's always interesting to read!

Here's mine from Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter.

Yes, my mind was spinning in a couple of different directions on this one. I fixed the image in my post. Now I need to fix my profile picture. Sometimes it displays; and sometimes it doesn't.
