The Friday 56 - First post

So I found this on a friend's Facebook page and have seen it a couple different places but haven't seen it as a weekly thing anywhere. If anyone else has, and I'm stepping on toes, let me know! I'm calling it The Friday 56.

Rules:
* Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or in the comments section of this blog.
*Post a link along with your post back to this blog.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

"You've got flies in your eyes," Yossarian repeated. "That's probably why you can't see them."
--Catch-22

Happy Friday!

"It must not be poured on ordinary men, and you must not use the same formula to make any mixture like it" - Exodus, The Bible.

Thought that would be interesting. Nice idea for a blog. I'll be following you.

That is interesting. Unfortunately so many different Bibles are printed differently so your page 56 and my page 56 might be different. My 5th sentence on pg 56 is in Genesis:

And if the men should drive them hard one day, all the flock will die.

BTW, was the Bible truly the closest thing to you? Or was it just an interesting quote?

oh, well, my book was written by Caroline Moorehead if you want to pick it up or check it out at the library. Non-fiction, if that wasn't clear.

"What's with Duma, jack? Nice miles of prime florida real estate, a greaat beach, and it's never been developed? What's up with that.

This book by Stephen King has been sitting on my dresser for some now.
You've inspired me to read it.

Roxy, I started to read that and it was good but it was a library book and I didn't finish. I need to get it again and finish this time!

Ruthanne, I love that!

This book's my sister's. She uses it in college, and it's definitely not cool. The graphs all around are making me dizzy.

Hi Tonya,

Sorry for not responding quicker. The Bible was truly the book that was closest to me. I had to examine several parts of it for school.

Here's another one for you:
